Waterford Bit

Ive just started riding a horse whos wears a waterford bit, can anyone tell me a bit more about these as ive never used/ridden a horse with one before???

They are quiet a mild bit in snaffle form and stop the horse from taking hold of the bit and running trough or plunging etc! I hunt my boy in a waterford gag as he used to take hold and lep through the air! They are great for stopping horses leaning on you as they are too jointed and they sit in the mouth well!
What do you ride?

Waterfords are great, they're not toooo harsh but can help with a horse that has a tendency to lean, get a bit 'gobby' and strong etc.
I use one for hunting Rog, but he only wears it for hunting. Otherwise he's in a nathe!

Spot on!

I use one when i need a little extra i.e competitions and XC. For everday i use a french link.
