im currently showjumping my pony in a waterford loose ring snaffle which he goes really well in, but im finding it very hard to steer in. has anyone else found this? I am thinking of changing to a drop cheek or full cheek waterford- do you think this will help? I was told a cherry roller would be better but i think it would be to thick/big in his mouth. anyone have any advice?
Thanks

I don't understand why someone would suggest that a cherry roller would help steering?

Unless perhaps they have seen your horse working and think it needs more movement in the mouth? For steering I would recommend the full cheek, as the hanging cheek can also effect head carriage which you don't necessarily require/want

I use a waterford bit, but with full cheeks. Think that will help your steering problems. Or, try those rubber bit roundings if you don't want to splash out on a new bit right away. I used the rubber rings at first, and when they worked, I saved up and bought her the new bit.
