Was at a chapionship show with my daughter day, and noticed alot of the first ridden and some lead rein ponies had either wilkie or hanging cheek waterford snaffles?? Its not the first time ive noticed either, is it even showing legal they all seemed to do quite well. I didnt think they were allowd in show rings??

Personally i dont think waterford type bits and small childrens hands dont go but thats my personall opinion.

Opionons on a postcard please.:D;)

Yes they're allowed. Wilkies, waterfords and even waterford wilkies are all allowed in lr, fr, novice and open ridden classes as far as I'm aware.

Not a huge fan of waterfords anyway (they do have their place) but really don't like the idea of small children with them.

Forgot to ask- how did you get on? :)

I dont mind them in trained hands but not in small children 1 was in a lead rein pony children have to be under 8 to me thats just not right but thats me.

Yer she did a really nice show and he was really good, and was really pleased with that as the last 2 showing classes hes been a bit of a so and so and shes ended up getting quite stroppy. I think there both glad its the end of the showing season to be honest. So now theyve got lots of fun XC sponsered rides ect. for the autumn and they can both just have fun and nothing to serious.:)
