Or do you just slide off?! I'm thinking of getting one given that my saddle gets soaked just about every time I ride at the moment, but they all look they are made of really slippery material. I need a little bit of stickablility! Any recommendations?

I just ordered mine off eBay, it arrived today, haven't ridden in it yet but it is really close fitted o the saddle and has fleece inside to stop it slipping, the waterproof fabric is pretty heavy duty too.

I'm yet to test it in the rain as my saddle isn't back from the saddler's yet but I tried it on another one and I'm pretty impressed with it so far.

I've got a suede-seat saddle, and love it to bits, but it can be a challenge in the rain!!

Got two saddle covers from "Helens Hooves and Paws" on e-bay; they're fantastic. Don't know how I managed without them, especially as I've got a horse on loan at the mo complete with very nice saddle and I don't want to risk ruining it by riding in the rain and getting it soaked, which is pretty inevitable at the moment.

These covers don't slip, they do their job and stay where they're supposed to; I've ridden in ordinary jods and after say 5 mins you forget its there. They do the job really well and cover up the saddle nicely. IF you felt you were slipping a bit then there's a simple solution: wear sticky-bum jods!! But I haven't felt the need to, and have used these saddle-covers doing mainly walk & trot but also some faster work too.

Indispensable!! Dunno how I'd manage without them.

I also have two from Helens Hooves and Paws ebay shop that I use for saddle fittings - I do think the cantle is a little narrow in them, I use L for anything under 17", and XL for 17" and 17.5" because of it.
