Hi i have just bought the older style of this rug of equestrian clearance, and just wondered if they are any good as my boy is prone to sweetitch and is a very sensitive soul when it comes to flies and sun. Any info would be appriciated :D

Thanks

I bought one and sent it back as my boy would have roasted in it. The one I had just reminded me of a tight weave cotton summer sheet. I bought a Premier Equine bug rug instead and its been brill and on its 3rd summer.

Thats Good then thats the one iv ordered hopefully it iwill work on my poor boy, Dont suppose you know if they are very waterproof?

:D

Thanks

No they are not at all waterproof. they are just uv fly sheet. Saying that, I've known horses get wet in them and they haven't died!

They are like a cotton sheet, but a thin one. Thinner that a Rambo sweet itch rug. I've never known a horse to get hot in one. In fact dark horses def stay cooler. My friends mare had one for a few years and no other normal fly rugs lasted one summer!

Mine was terrible. Tail flap fell off and when I wrote to wb and sent it to them politely advising it was faulty they wrote back to say nothing wrong with it. Tail flap fell off after 8hrs wear. Hardly nothing wrong.

Mine all sweated quite bad in them, I had on back order 2 more rugs, when i cancelled the order and told them why her reply was " they are not supposed to be used when hot"

I have gone back to using the amigo bug rugs, they are great. No sweating either.
