Bailey and I had our first hack out on Sunday morning [first time I would have hacked him out since he has been backed].
I was a little nervous [have been gradually getting over my nerve problem over last year or so] but got tacked up and ready to go [with my new Polite tabard!] with my friend who is also the lady who owns our yard.
We went at half 8 as it was a little quieter. When we went off, we met a few of bailey's friends who were being brought in from the fields, but he was fine
He was brilliant with the traffic, and even when horses on the other side of the hedge came running alongside us. A house had a big flag outside of it but we weren't concerned by that; however, the small jars on the table by the flag with plants in - well! We had a little bend away from that because there was obviously something dodgy!
We got on our way home and a pheasant "jumped" us - both Bailey and Cookie decided to have small trot up the road but he came back to me instantly. We got home - me eternally grateful to Tamsin for her coming out and babysitting us, and very proud of my little horse. He really is a little star and the best thing is, I'm not having the little wobbles I used to! Previously, that little bend away or the unexpected trot up the road would have had me in tears and getting off with uncontrollable nerves.
Little steps at a time, but Bailey is doing me proud! Very happy, and it feels so great to finally be riding and not being paralysed with nerves and irrational feelings.
Pointless really, but KitKat Chunky for all who get to the end
