Even though my head was screaming "don't do it" (serious Fluffy Bunny here!!) my wild child side was poking me in the back saying "doitdoitdoitdoit"
So I listened to my wild child side, which is a rarity!
We went cubbing!
He was a little pig to tack up, good grief! I thought I was never going to get it done!
Fast forward - tacked up, got on and walked around the field whilst everyone else got ready.
They called for the jump riders, and they headed off and I set off with the none-jump riders.
I would have jumped, but it was my first go and I was warned that Ned was a bit...forward going when hunting!
We had a good canter through the first field...but then the waiting began. An hour!!
I was also told that the waiting was the worst part for Ned, I'd heard tales that he rears unless kept constantly moving. Pfft, he was a good boy! He was excited, sure, but he stood very well
3 foxes were spotted but they all got away (phew!)
They got bored and we moved on.
Lots of trotting and cantering by this time I'd latched onto an old friend, which was comforting. Neddy was strong, but controllable.
We got to a field, when suddenly everyone shot to the side and galloped up the edge of the field...I was only one horse from the front :O :O!!! I saw the fox in between all the hounds...no! I thought, damn, I shouldn't have come!! Then I heard a girl say "Nope, it got away" Thank goodness!
We were headed to the next field, when a wee girl from my yard slipped and fell. Both her and the horse fell right over onto the road and she had hurt her knee. She and YO headed back and I decided to join them, I wanted to end on a good note and he'd been such a good boy!!
I'm still pumped, and very pleased the day went well I didn't see any foxies die and I had a good ride!!
Hopefully I'll have some pics soon
