Hacked my 4yr old on the dark (out in day light home in the dark) twice this week.

The first night she nearly had heart failure when we came upon my neighbour dealing with a sick cow in a gorse bush next to the road on the way home in the dark. Her idea was to run past lol but she settled down and tonight she was superb.

Love these tesco lights, the strap part is silicone so stretches over her bridle easily, sits well and doesn't damage the bridle at all. I also have a red one at the back on my head torch band. She also has a flashing tail guard thing and I have ordered a reflective head collar for under her bridle and some reflective tubes for her martingale.

People really really stare at our lights so apparently they are easy to see :D
 
Well done! Great to hear she is taking it (almost) all in her stride!

You are braver than me - I won't hack anywhere in proper darkness, I don't mind riding out in low light but hate even to return in full blackness, it really worries me when other people are around... but your lighting system sounds effective!

She is really coming on leaps and bounds now, have had her three months and she has changed from an idiot into a mainly pleasant beastie in that time.

I find it takes the pressure off on a hack as normally I'd be worrying about getting home where as now I just come home when I am ready. :)

Also been to Go outdoors today and got a similar idea but its a flat disk type forward facing and I am putting that on her martingale.
