Fern has been a bit difficult recently but wow today, her flatwork was outstanding - held herself in a lovely outline without me asking (!!) and was feeling particularly bendy today so we got a nice bit of bend (rather than looking the wrong way!) so we popped over a few small fences.. she hasn't jumped for about 6 months.. I don't think she has jumped since before June 2014 when I broke my leg actually..but anyway.. I got some videos and lord, there was monsters underneath! :D Please excuse my hands - I was not expecting her to leap or take off so early each time.. but then again, she MUST clear it. :p

She certainly likes to just "take the fence" rather than put a short one in! My mare is the exact same when fresh and sometimes just because, placing poles/trot poles before fences unfortunately don't work as she just takes them all in one go...leading to me having a heart attack!

Though if mine hadn't been jumped since last summer I would have much less control than you did! Well done, she looks good! And you're not being completely left behind (as I would be) :)

Awh thank you, Your mare sounds just like mine! If you put canter poles she jumps them.. I would have put a couple of poles at the start but they were on the other side of the (very) big field so though i'd just hang on as best as I could. :D

I didn't have much control yesterday - we had to resort to groundwork! (silly pony!) but today I lunged her before getting on so we were well behaved however I only took her into the fence at walk and then trot up to it so she didn't have time to bomb.. in her opinion, that is the best thing to do anyway. ;)
