Really chuffed with my boy today. I decided to take him for a quick hack as it's been dull all day & the fog was coming down thick & fast. He is only 5 so can sometimes get nappy. There is one road he will not go along as there is a barn of cows & a troph by the fence that makes a gushing noise, so he gets his knickers in a right twist & won't go along. He will only go along if in company, but won't take lead. I have tried having someone on foot, but nope doesn't make a difference unless it's me walking by his side .

Well the other week I was out with mum & he actually walked along this road in front, so when I was out today alone I decided to give it another go & guess what he was very brave & finally done it with me on board. He did nap once & let me have a taste of some bushes :o, but once I reassured him & gave him a tap on the bottom he went on. We did have to go along the middle of road while he was snorting & his eyes were out on stalks, but I am so happy that after a year I have finally got him along there without getting off :D.

My confidence has finally come back as before when he used to nap, he knocked my confidence as he was a little sod & I would end up getting of, but recently it's come back & he has relised as each time he naps it doesn't bother me in the slightest so the fight only lasts 20 secs as he knows I won't get off even if I do have to eat some bushes :p

Sorry bit pointless, but so proud we have finally done it :)

I accidently posted this in Competion Riders, but not sure how to move it hence why I have re posted :o

Wooooo you should be very proud! This post also gives me hope that my 4 year old mares stubborn napping at the school gate can be ironed out!
Moments like this makes having our youngsters worth it :)
