Well!
Went 2 aston today and was plesently suprised that the ground was perfect! Walked the xc 1st and it was a lovely course with quite a few changes from last year so was just waiting to get out there and jump it but no! As soon as we got bak 2 the lorry it started 2 rain and continued to do so all day! So warned up for dressage-right next 2 xc so song was quite on his toes but working well so went in quite confidet but we just fell apart and broke in both med trots and our transitior were all rushed!

And then on to the sj! He warmed up well and then went in and tried so hard but we had 4 down due to slipy ground and looking bak on it i didnt have him on his hocks enough! So withdrew after that as didnt want to risk it and have chepstow next week! So all in all not a great day and its still raining but am now eating bacon sandwich so its not been all bad! Lol! Just why wasnt it like this last week! Lol Xx

Oh well - sounds like you've learnt from today and think you definately did the right thing not to go XC if the SJ was slippy as you definately don't want to injure the superstar before Chepstow.
See you very soon

are you doing the Intermediate? or CCI*

oh well, never mind. Look forward to Chepstow now... probs the best decision given the conditions.
Can you believe all this rain we're having, when this time last week there were inch thick cracks in the ground!!

thats a shame, this weather's certainly keeping us guessing isnt it!!! Fingers crossed for better conditions next weekend then

You'll have a great time at Blair!
I can imagine Aston was slippy, wise decision not to run XC, Chepstow sounds like a better bet.
