hi all

I'm not sure how many of you are on facebook but recently i started following a page a lady set up about some horses she has rescued in egypt. She has worked wonders with these horses and is now trying to help others in the area many of which have serious wounds and sores caused by ill fitting equipment and general lack of care. as in the pic here.

At the beginning of december i entered a christmas competition on the BEIDS page with a picture of my mare to win some fab prizes.
After going on the Prince fluffy Kareem page today and seeing the pics of the saddle pad project (which brought tears to my eyes) i would like to ask all of you who are on facebook for your votes on my picture and if we manage to win the competition i will donate the first aid kit and the polite saddle pad to team Kareem so that they can help the horses who our more needy of these items than i am. please use this link to vote thankyou

Hi Steff

Thats really sweet :) and a lovely suggestion, Im a good sport and have voted for u :D.

I on the other hand am trying to win as my youngster had and I had an horrific accident 4 months ago and it really made me realise HOW important a first aid kit is :( I was lucky not to of lost him please see photo attached. Thank goodness I was insured....but my insurance didnt cover all the extras u need for 4 months box rest -but thank goodness it paid my vets bill. I was also knocked out and unconcious....BEIDS is a very valuble service to all equines and humans - brillaint competition

We where coming in out of the field and my grey horse on the picture in the competition decided AAAHHHHH I dont want to be on my own and cantered across the field and spooked my yearling he shot over me and landed/caught his side on the gate post hinge :( Nightmare hes just come off box rest last week and is doing fine now but my bank balance isnt Lol Just so glad hes going to be ok as I only bought him in June - the costs involving keeping his bed so imaculate and 24/7 care where horrific, but im still off work sick so thats helped a little as I managed to poo pick the stable every few hours as he loved to roll even with an injury like that bless

Are you going to vote for me? Ive voted for you :D

Thanks

Sarah

thanks sophie :)

OMG sarah thats horrible and something that can happen so simply as well. just glad you still have you horse with you. debts can be paid back eventually but horses can't be brought back. I know! i lost a horse a few years ago in a traffic accident and even now i go over it in my head wondering if i had done something differently would it have changed the outcome.
