Pointless thread, but I know you lovely lot will understand the reason for my smile today!
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamt of the day of taking part in a One Day Event, but I've never had the right horse and I've ever had the confidence.
Well on the back of our first team Show jumping, I decided with my moto following last year's accident "you only die once" in the back of my mind, to enter our first one day event at ALW. Having looked at their pictures of a previous event, I decided to pull on the brave pants (no idea where they've come from!) and enter the 80.
In the terrible wind yesterday, it was very strange going back into a 20 by 40 dressage arena, but I was really pleased with our test and we score a fabulous 27.3

On to the show jumping; four fences blew down as I was waiting to start, so I knew the slightest touch they'd be down, but I didn't need to worry, we did it, clear

Then a napping session as he didn't want to leave the SJ arena, until I showed him the XC course down the questioned slope, well he was a star, flew everything, however I am full of a chesty cold, so couldn't breathe, so enjoyed the leisurely walk through the water (twice) and racked up almost as many time penalties as our dressage score (opps!) But we had an absolute ball and finished 9th!
