Some of the ponies are going to the woods for a ride tomorrow and YO (ok, so she's looking after the yard atm, it's just easier to say YO) decided it might be a good idea to check if the ponies will all still load (it's been a while). I jumped at the chance to try Ned in the trailer again as he had a bad experience last time I tried and an even worse experience at the sales he was bought from.
Anyway, he was a bit rude to begin with, he had a little rear in protest, but when he had his front legs on, he was fine!! I've not closed the doors yet, but I didn't have a huge amount of time and I didn't want to push it too far on his first go.

In other news, there's also a pony camp and Ned had a peek in the tent ;)
He also met new horse Sharkie over the fence!! Pictures to come!

I have just noticed your rubber matting has the lines going fornt to back, i would turn it round so the horses have more grip etc when you are drivng them, loading and unloading.

As far as rubber matting goes - I'll see if it can be turned around, but it's not my trailer, but I'll see.

And he did! A carrot and lots of minty treats :D
I've found he gets easily distracted by me getting treats out of my pocket, rather than the actual eating of the treat, so I pretend it's hard to get the treat out :P hehe!

He looks cool as a cucumber in that trailer :) Trailer loading is one of my favorite 'issues' to help a horse over. It's so nice when they're confident and load/unload calmly.
Gorgeous horse!

The matting looks the same as in our trailer, if so you have it upside down. The grooves are to help with drainage and should be on the bottom. The otherside is bobbly for grip. :)

Ah, thank you! I'll try and flip it over when I go up. :)

crazybootlady: Thanks :D I've never tried it before! In fact, I've only ever loaded a pony before (when I was about 10 and who was very easy, I'm sure he would have done it himself) so it's a learning curve for both of us :)
