I took Hovis to a local show on saturday - our first on our own without someone with us from the yard. It was only a small show aimed at beginner but it was heaving with people, some of whom I'm damn sure weren't beginners!
We decided to try him in the clear round first to see how I got on and we went clear!!! I was SO pleased with him!! I am such a muppet rider and he's so young but we got round and got our first ever rossette!!
Then I decided to try a proper class and went for class 2. We had to wait about an hour and a half as the first class was so busy but he stood by the lorry like a pro just munching his hay.
We then went in and we were going so well that I thought we were going to go clear but I think I stopped riding the last fence and he just caught it with his rear hooves. I heard it fall and was like "bummer"!!
He did so well though I was chuffed to bits.
So in an otherwise utterly cr*p few weeks my little boy did me proud.
We also had two more people make offers for him which increasingly baffles me - he's gorgeous in my eyes but he's not really the best looking beast in the world so what these people see i have no idea!!
