I am so so chuffed with my little man for winning the Petplan Novice Class at the Area Festival at Wellington Riding yesterday. I never in a million years thought we could do it! We came in with just under 71% and I actually thought they had made a mistake when I read my score!

Louis was such a super star and he loved every minute of it

He really did pull it out of the bag at the last minute. I could tell he was a little spooked by the new surroundings etc he really held it together and produced the best medium trots and medium canters I have ever had from him

I actually started blubbing when we did our victory lap and I could swear Louis was smilling!

Faaaantastic Katie, the photos are great!! I can imagine how you feel, on top of the world I'm sure.

Is it the winter Nationals you will go to at Solihull?

TOG yes it's at Solihull, very nervous already as I've never done anything so big before!
 
Well done - what a smart combination.

Don't be nervous about the Nationals just enjoy it and you will probably be in with a shout of a good placing.
 
you wil be fine at the Winters hun, the Petplan arena is lovely - id advise you dont do the arena walk as you get lots of crazy people out of control of their horses rearing/bucking and lunging all over the place!! I did it in April and someone and her horse suddenly charged at poor me and Bloss and nearly ran straight into us!!

The arena isnt really scary and he can look at it from the warmup arena. You'l have a great time and with a mark like that you've got every chance of winning, as youve got ages and ages to work on everything

Thanks, I def won't do the arena walk as Louis will kick out if he feels trapped or if someone runs into us!

I am going to work so hard now to get it all perfect, and as you said we have lots of time!
