Think I might need a good ol' HHO slap

My weanling is a good 10 months. Recently decided she can now live out (for convenience tbh). She's been out for the last couple of nights in her normal field but tonight we moved them into a bigger field which is near the road

She's out with a friend and the 'nanny' gelding. They have a field shelter, post & rail & electric fencing and high hedges. They were happy as larry earlier

Now the wind is whistling and the rain coming down - I have visions of trees, fencing and field shelter being ripped up (Wizard of Oz style), foalies and all.

Please could someone give my imagination a good talking to?

-22 centigrade here today. Yesterday was -24 with a windchill of -40. My foals all survived.

"Oh!! You are sooo cruel! Your poor little thing out there in the cold!

Don't worry! They'll be much happier and healthier being out. Just because we couldn't bear standing in the middle of a field in the winter doesn't mean they feel the same.

Mine to ! I have left her and her dam out for the last 2 weeks whilst it was dry (time is a bit limited as my Dad is in hospital) and have been in work all day so couldn't get them in.

Dont worry I had a paranoia (sp?) a few weeks ago about leaving my horse outside at nights due to circumstances. Posted on on here and got lots of reassurance that he would be fine.

Its chucked it down with rain and sleaty snow here all day and I was worrying about him, I arrived to feed tonight and he was away happily eating the grass! It seems that they dont worry about it like us !!

I can hear it outside raining and howling wind now but Im sure he is probably still fine!

Dont worry

She'll be fine - she's got friends, freedom and protection from the elements. If you are worried about the field shelter being blown down, surely the same could apply to a stable and then she wouldn't even have the option of escape.

Dont worry she will be fine. My foal has lived outside all the time with her mum. Plenty of hay as there isnt much grass and a nice field shelter and they are happy as larry.
