Ok so I am off out hunting next weekend for the first time ever. I don't have a proper hunt coat, just show jackets in a variety of colours. The other girls going (teenagers from the riding stables on riding stables horses who only ever go once or so a year) said they normally wear their smart jackets with a waterproof on top to keep them warm/dry (think yard jackets!)

This is fine except the only jacket i have that would be suitable is my bright red musto waterproof one. I cannot imagine for a second that it will be appropriate although they seem to think it will be ok! So can anyone tel me, yay or neigh, or do i need to try to get hold of something more suitable in a week when I am skint lol!

I would not wear a red waterproof out hunting! From across a few fields you might look like one of the hunt staff. Beg or borrow any sort of dark coloured waterproof. Definitely better than a chilly show jacket. Any of your friends got a wax jacket or a tweed shooting type coat they would lend you?

I would also only wear a black or navy waterproof for hunting, even forgetting the etiquette, you don't want to stick out like a sore thumb - hope you have fun :)
