Honestly now, how much riding do you think you're going to get done with all the wind and rain forecast for this week?

I've made an executive decision to get the wolf teeth taken out on our mare thus laying her off for 7 days, the other one needs "proper" work urgently, there is a PC Area dressage comp on 19th July, we're struggling to get him out even on a hack due to daughter being at school and then foul weather when daughter is home, let alone in an arena practising anything. I'm beginning to get worried now...

Just go out regardless!! Unless it is gale force - they have to get used to weather, as if you ever have the misfortune to be halfway through a dressage test or sj round and it starts pelting down - the horse has to know that it still has to work!!!

Can you not box to an indoor arena if you want to practise for dressage? Mind you - you might need floats on the pony's hooves for the comp so they don't sink!!!!

Well his lordship has just pulled a shoe off - so luckily for me that means I don't have to ride today (although it's nice) or tomorrow (torrential rain forcast). He's being re-shod on Thursday - so from then on it's waterproofs and a wet saddle!

Im hoping to ride tomorrow evening. I haven't seen the forecast for this week though

Does anyone know what Saturdays meant to be like?
Ive got an adult gymkhana in the afternoon and having a BBQ in the evening for my Birthday if its nice.
It rained last year on my Birthday, surely not again!

Then Thurs and Fri I will just have to ride in the rain if its raining as they both need riding and I dont get any other time but after work to ride

Meant to be a nice weekend though according to met office

Thankfully it was nice this morning, held up just long enough to get him out and about and get his rug back on. Really hate the weater as he has no shoes on at the moment so I cannot hack him out and the weather is making the ground far too slippy to work in the fields as they end up trashed and he will end up on his arse (again) if he is being a bit fresh.
