as per title really, anyone got one? is it any good, does it fit well and does it leak etc? looks like it has a belly flap. how thick is the neck on it or do you put an under cover on the neck if its really cold. i think it has wither relief pad.

want it to replace my mares premier equine buster trio set which has rubber her withers.

I had one of these. They are wonderful, brilliant rugs. Fit beautifully and completely waterproof. Fantastic with the liners.

However, it was too good. My horse, who is quite a warm boy, used to sweat under it (badly).

I understand they stopped making them because they didn't breathe properly. BUT - I would still buy one if I had a horse who suffered in the cold.

I sold mine on Ebay with three liners - somebody got a lovely rug.

I have the NZ version, I really like it. Top bit alone is pretty warm, but my guy is really hot. He has to be clipped not to sweat.
Haven't used the liner yet (Only 1, 200gm), and will probably use a neck sock under it in winter.
Really really like it though!

Is this the one with the fleecy part on the neck,??

If so ..

I nearly bought this but got the freestyle heavyweight instead as already had other rugs for MW/LW etc.

The wither pad is a god send in winter as it lifts neck off the Mane and leaves a fully intact mane after winter! Will be buying another this winter for other horse as he only has half a mane left and quite frankly, it looks awful!

The fleece on the neck is waterproof so that's another advantage and it keeps them nice and snug :)

We have one of these, bought to replace the old version which is still going after 8 years, hopefully this one will last as long ;)

Its not rubbed polo at all. Its not a belly flap but like extra bits to the sides to wrap round the horse a bit more, with straight surcingles rather than crossed. It has some weight in the neck but not loads, though i think you can buy thicker ones if you need to.

Fits lovely, polo doesnt sweat under it (providing you dont put it on when it is to warm for a medium weight lol :p), water proof. All in all found it a great rug :)

there seems to be some old H and H posts that suggest they make horses sweat as they are teflon and either really hot or not breathable or poss this was a one off prob with one rug. anyone had any issues with theirs? Robinsons have them, at £250 so dont want to make a mistake buying one at that cost.
