I have just found a rug that I would like to buy, but it doesn't have shoulder gussets. Is this going to be really uncomfortable for my horse, or will it be ok? It is a Weatherbeeta Genero.

I think it really depends on the shape of your horse. I always use horseware rugs as they fit my horse very well and never rub. They dont have shoulder gussets, but I also use the weatherbeeta landa and orican. They have shoulder gussets and also dont rub.

A 14hh New Forest at our yard was in a Genero all last winter and he seemed fine. I think as long as it's not tight you should be ok. Any chance you could try one first?

ps my mare is a 16.1 dutch warmblood.

I'm buying it from eBay so no chance i can try it first. I always use the Weatherbeeta rugs as they seem to fit my mare very nicely (15.2 chunky TB). She was in the Landa last year and it was a very nice fit, but this one is much cheaper!
