Does anyone have this exact rug? (the model not the colour!)

AAAoricancombo05.jpg

If so can you answer me a question - it looks like on the picture that its different to the other weatherbeata combo's in that the neck peice is one continuous piece of fabric and there is no seam part way up the nack that would rub mane out - is that right?

And does anyone have one that has a big shouldered and chunky necked wee beastie and has it rubbed their mane?

Astis mane got removed last year where the seam of he combo rug rubbed about 6 inches in front of her withers so I was going to get a seperate neck though this one looks like it might be OK...

im probably useless in that i only have the old version, which does have a seam somewhere, but doesnt rub my horses mane at all. and she is one hefty beastie.

I have 2 of these in brown/beige, think it is the same although mine are a couple of years old. On the 15hh cobby one it was fine, on the 14hh Highland pony it rubbed her mane, thereby blowing out our showing season this year..I won't be using it again this winter.
To be fair they were both lovely and warm and toasty in them, and out all winter last year with no leaks or damage so the rug defintely does the job

I have it (even in that colour but it's brown now!

D's mane was rubbed last year but think it was his weatherbeeta stable rug to blame not the Orican.

Sister's little TB has that exact same rug. Yes there IS a seem part way up the neck!! Fiddler was OK though, as he is very fine and has typical TB conformation - ie his neck comes out of the middle of his shoulders and is not cresty.

I use that rug on my horse without any problems and she is a sweet itch suffere. With horses that are awkward fit how about trying a lycra hood underneath to prevent rubbing? Also if clipped helped to retain the heat. I used to use one all the time on my old horse and it was fab - also helped to tame his wild mane

It does have a very think seam on the neck attachment but nothing which should cause a rub. My cob's mane just went a bit wavy. It fits him really well except the lining has all ripped inside (but think thats him playfighting - not the rugs fault) apart from that v smart rug and v practical! xxxpm me if you need to know anything else about it!
