I usually buy horseware rugs for my young Connemara he's outgrowing his 6ft and now into 6'3" I've seen a nice weatherbeeta rug but I've never tried that brand on him can anyone advise on what shape horse they fit well before I order and anyone out there with Connemaras and what rugs you recommend for fit.

Hi, I have bought weatherbeeta rugs for Connie's in the past, they have fitted well on all but were a much snugger fit on the shoulders of my chunky mare although she is rather wide! And a much finer Connie fitted perfectly into the same rug. They are extremely good quality and last for years, true to size and do not easily rip even on rug destroying ponies! I highly recommend them :-)

I have WB on my conny who has huge shoulders. Get the gussetted rugs though, not the cheap genero range or that style without a shoulder gusset. I like swish rugs more these days as they're really generously sized and the necks fit on better so no gap blowing on the withers.

Another WB fan here. My Highland x Connemara wears them and they're a great fit. I'd recommend the gusseted ones as well - I have several Landas and love the extra tail gusset for keeping bottoms covered and also they don't seem to blow about as much at the back.

I used weatherbeeta rugs on my very chunky big shouldered Connie. What I would say I'd get ones with shoulder "gussets" as the standard type rugs ride up at the bump while the gusset type one sit lovely.
