I live a 'stones throw' from the stable yard (on site). And I would love to set up a web cam for private use in the yard looking at the stable doors and see who is doing what (to a degree) without being disturbed by me during the long eves/nights. (And I do go out and check them before my bed time btw).
Its more of a curiosity thing really. And who knows could be a life saver?!
I only have a basic Dell pc and I am not pc lit' by along way! I've never had webcam so I have no idea if this is possible and would it be easy to set up by an idiot (meaning me!)?
What kind of webcam do I go for?
I mean are they or can they be wireless/remote for a start? Or am i being a dope and that i can only do this with cctv, in which case i won't do.
Any ideas/advice much appriciated x

do you want to film people going about their business???
if so do you have concerns about other people at your yard.,
im not sure if you can film people without their consent, imagine if someone was peeing in the stable (not that i do that sort of thing,) but i'm not sure they want to be caught on camera 'in the act' lol

hmm, I imagine you'd need a phone line at the yard and some web space (with fixed IP). Then set up a cctv camera to upload pics at certain intervals to a certain IP to be named as something like horses.jpg. Then upload a file called index.html to include the following text:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="60" URL=default.htm">
<TITLE>Horses!</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<IMG SRC="horses.jpg"
</body>
</html>

Then on your computer just view the url and voila!

(PS: much easier to get someone else to do it for you
