Websites without the padlock for security

Theres a horsey website caled pink equine that have some fab browbands and I want to make some purchases from it, though admittedly I have left it a bit late for christmas now. However, when it comes to the page where you give your CC details it does not have the little padlock on the bottom of the page indicating that the site is secure/encrypted. I don't feel confident to use it and will give them a call tomorrow instead.

Am I just being paranoid or could there be a problem with their website? My norton security also poped up a little box saying there was secure and non secure items on the page which made me even more suspicious. Do you think its worth mentioning it to them when I call - I don't want to seem like an idiot!

Yeah I'd be wary of putting my credit card details in too! Deffo worth mentioning to them over the phone.

If it doesn't have a padlock then it is NOT secure. Phone them and tell them as they need to know because they'd get in serious trouble for not taking all security measures when taking payments!

On some sites the Padlock is at the top by the web address ... Also check the secure page address begins "https"

if there is no padlock the page is not on a ssl server, so there is no security, do not put your details in, fax or call, you would have no comeback with your credit card company
