OK, well she is 12 and very active, a real outdoor cat, but lives in her own little world. Today she never came for breakfast, and in the end I had to get her out of her nest, she had a bite to eat and went to sleep again, there seems no problem. Is this normal, is it just old age catching up with her? She was fine last night, making a fuss because her dinner plate was empty. When I say empty, she wanted cat pate not felix pouches [jelly]

Could be full of something like bunny if she's a hunter ... one of mine had stuffed herself al fresco last summer and lay, nearly comatose, until she'd finished digesting it. Had me worried for a bit until I felt how full her tum was! Fingers crossed it's something as simple as that ...

Would not think she would change over night, monitor her tonight and see how she is in the morning. If she is still off her food take her to vet as she can get dehydrated, and there could be a reason for her being off colour.

if you can feel her nose see if its warm of not or any signs of blood or scabs in case she has been in a fight.

Keep us updated how she is in the am

She's been up and eaten, though not keen on milk, seems perfectly fine, gone outside, maybe she was out all night and was overtired, she is so secretive it is hard to track her movements, tummy does seem normal, not empty or overfull.

Panic over, she came back in [ she's been out for half an hour!] and straight to the food bowl as though she hadn't seen food for a while, drank the milk and is sitting at my side while I have my tea.

Aaaand that's why as my parents used to say 'Contrary, thy name is Cat' ;)

They have a fine way of convincing you of one thing and then do a u-turn faster than a politician in the run-up to an election. Glad she's ok :)
