My gelding has a couple of wee patches in his summer field. They have slowly got bigger over the last couple of years and the grass isnt growing there any more. Does anyone have any advice for repairing these areas please? I am guessing the ph of the soil needs rebalancing somehow

Not sure if this is any help, but I am noticing this for the first time with the old cob. The grass is burned off where he wees. Part of me wonders whether it is a result of the stressed grass diet of this summer. Will observe and see if things change.

I've got a few in one of the fields I bought where I think the old owners cob just used the same spot for 10 years!

I've given them a good scrape with the rake to loosen the soil, spread seed and topped with hay. The field has been rested for 6 months and the first lot of seed I assume got whacked by the drought and high temps and didn't germinate so it will be interesting to see if the latest lot does or if a decade of pee build up means nothing will ever grow there.....
