Hello lovely people, can I have some advice please?

I seem to have an awful lot of nettles and a large patch of docks in my field.

Bar hard work, how can I get rid of them?

On another website I saw vinegar being recommended as a weed killer

Has any heard of this/used this?

Any other recommendations gratefully received

Topping them is generally the best thing you can do - then reseed and continue topping. Topping tends to weaken weeds, whereas it helps strengthen grass.

we've strimmed them all down once but obviously they are regrowing - with a vengence it seems. I have managed to rid the field of Ragwort in the last 6 weeks although in all fairness there wasn'tthat much to start with. The field has been empty for a year so the weeds have run riotslightly in some areas.

thanks for the advice - i knew topping strengthened grass but didn't know it weakened weeds

You could put in a bit effort this autumn and over-seed with grass in those areas. Then next spring (once the weeds have shown themselves) have a farmer come in and spray with Broadsword or similar. Good luck.
