Just a bit worried. My fit as a flea boy is about 19 ish, and won't ever wee unless he is in his field, and only on the yard if he can't cross his legs any longer. He peed on the yard last week, and has been weeing as soon as i turn him out, and the other day he was so busting and trying to hold onto it until we reached the field that drips of wee were coming out! This morning he weed three times! Once at about half seven this morning when i got him in, once out on our hack (totally unlike him) about an hour later and then again when i turned him out about half hour later.
Should i be worried?

He looks incredibly fit and well generally.
Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed my boy is weeing alot more than usual too - think it's down to the water they've been getting in all the wet grass!

I posted about my young pony on Vet section yesterday but no replies .As yours is older it may be cushings .I would google it and see what you think.
I also wondered if some plants do this to a horse. I will be interested in your replies

I have heard that dandelions act as a diuretic, but none in my boy's field. Was panicking about cushings, but he is a good weight, smooth coated, with fairly firm poos. They had been runny but had put that down to the grass. Think i might have a chat with my vet...

Has he been drinking excessively as well?

My gelding was like this last year - his bed was soaking every morning and he was drinking all the time. I had the vet out and bloods done, which came back clear, so we never got to the bottom of it. The vet suspected it was a vice he had developed (not at all surprising with my lad!), as she had come across a very similar case before. One year on, he's absolutely fine health wise.

I think it's well worth having your vet take a look to find out what you're dealing with.

Have not seen him drinking more, nor has YO but we are going to keep a close eye on him over the next few days. Thanks for your feedback

My boy who never wees at all on rides has started since we have had all this rain in the last few weeks he also does one as soon as I put him out, Its really clear and looks just like water so im going to wait till it dries up and if it continues I will have it looked into but from what I can gather from the other horses at my yard (all similar) its just the grasses water content!!!!

I've been topping the sour patches today with a lawn mower. The grass is absolutely full of moisture at the moment, it was like cutting the lawn in the rain if you know what I mean, even though we've had good weather here for a few days now.

I hope your boy is OK and it's just a blip.
