Anyone?
I shall be escorting windy friend out tomorrow morning.
RC have monthly sj clinic on Saturday morning with esteemed sj coach at huge arena, early times to fit round his Badminton viewing lol, so am booked in.
Sunday am joining a good friend and her adult daughter for a fun ride (B will be put out as no jumps). Haven't ridden with them before and daughter is on a youngster, so will be a steady one.

Hope everyone competing goes well, and whatever you are doing, have fun x

also working! this week has gone to pot with general life responsibilities and i'm now behind, boo. Getting more behind as dropping kira off at vets tomorrow morning for her holiday where she will hopefully return home with a plus one. I would normally be beside myself with anxiety about that but at the moment it's one of many huge things on my mind so I'm very much in "what will be, will be" mode! o_O

Friend coming to watch Badminton on Saturday so that leaves Sunday being glued to the laptop with SJ in the background.

Frank will have some more sessions with my friendly freelancer, it's very nice to have outsourced that for a few weeks. Hopefully get a few nice photos and videos of him doing his Human Carrying and then i can revive his adverts.

Quiet-ish hack tonight, flatwork lesson tomorrow morning before work and v. early start to spectate at Badminton on Saturday. I'm now hacking on Sunday as I was supposed to be SJ arena hiring on Sunday but pony has a mild cough (in canter only but he's sensitive to dust and pollen) so don't think its fair on him this weekend to hack there, jump & hack home so will hack quietly instead. I cancelled it last time as he was just coming back after a kick I think so hopefully we'll get there soon ?

He's back on his supplement that always helps him so hopefully he'll be back to cantery-gallopy fun soon :)

I had good news yesterday; my lad has got three hernias but none are massive. They seem to have shrunk since the last examination, although this was the first scan. he has 3 months wearing his hernia belt but we are hoping to avoid more surgery (or possibly have a smaller surgery than otherwise might have been needed). We just need to keep on the same path with the hernia belt doing its work. I hope it works.

Otherwise I'm just riding the baby horse. We are aiming to do an online intro this month since the canter is still a bit unbalanced.

Hoping to pop a few logs and maybe also some other tiny fences. It turns out Ludo is an absolute natural with a great technique. I've never found it easier to teach a horse to jump. I've not done any real jumping for over 3 years, I thought I was past it ?

I'm spoiled this weekend as share horse's owner is away so I have as much riding as I can fit in! Will be hacking and in the school...preparing for a dressage comp! Just a fun one at the yard and Intro only, but it has been a good 10 years since I last did anything remotely like this so I'm really looking forward to it.

Nothing on the agenda for this weekend. After last weekends competition horse had a physio appointment on Monday and got a glowing report. She was really impressed with how he is going and how good he feels. It was just a 6 month check-in but she was impressed and very rarely can give such a good report. So that means I'm atleast doing something right ?

He felt good this week and we will school again today. He'll get a trim tomorrow and light work this weekend with mostly hacking and some inhand stuff. We've really been working on our expression and suppling work. Can't say that we're knocking anyone's socks off, but progress is being made. Again, I recommend buying the movement vs creating it ?

Arena hire tomorrow for Charlie for some jump schooling, need to try and work on jumps off turns as that seems to be where we have poles.
Bon has the dentist in the morning so assuming he's not sore probably a hack and then I think a play at cantering round some fences in our field

Attempting AM98 for the first time today. Had a bit of a lightbulb moment wrt our flying changes on the way home from Castle Douglas last weekend so hoping that I’ve put in enough effort over the last week to see an improvement in our score.

We’re not on until 10 past 5 so planning to chuck out shortly and pray that Raz comes in relatively clean with all four shoes intact.?

Blue is back in work again so will give him a quick 20 mins and then lunge NV before we go. Saddler is out Tuesday so hoping he can get NV’s saddle sorted and we can get back out and about as he’s got his second show pencilled in for the end of the month.

hope everyone has a good weekend ?

Had an excellent jumping lesson, he stepped the 3 of us up after checking us over 60 and 70. B was going great guns till not long before the end. There was a grass 'wall' which was only 60 but had a pole over the top,we had popped 5 decently before in that segment (15 fences in the huge arena), came round and on last stride she suddenly said help and stopped... I flew off, no idea how I didn't land on it tbh but landed splat on my back like a stranded beetle! B v worried, but I hopped back on and coach pulled the wall to one side and we cleared the jump by about a metre... repeated that exercise as wall jump was 3rd out of those 6 and she gave everything some space but went OK over them. The other 2 decided against jumping wall as 1 had flown off near the beginning. Still no idea why she didn't approve of it tho.
The worst bit will be getting the waxed sand out of everything ?.
Hey ho, 1st time off in public ish from her, might well ache later lol.
Tomorrow's 15 mile ride ought to sort me out tho ?

Bog didn’t deserve this IMO for finding unaff dressage even more exciting than eventing dressage. Neither did i because I forgot the test twice.

Still we won a voucher for an entry so we will go again much to his dismay I’m sure.

Honestly what am I supposed to do with a horse who screams for the warm up horses and spooks at white boards age 10. Don’t even get me started on the judges box.

Love the little tyke though but he really is opinionated ?

Ok wish I wasn’t posting after @Michen but here we are ?

I have a dressage pony. Not a very supple one but that’s not her fault when we practiced twice ? but she was so good, tried her best and most importantly we had fun. My friend took her other horse today, we’ve not even hacked them out together and Tali marched on the box, said hi and got tucked into his haynet.

After we finished the judge asked if it was our first time (which it was) which probably says a lot about our performance ? but I did really enjoy it. And even better than coming first, someone heard the judge say Tali was very pretty so that’s the only win we need ?(or going to get ?)

We have had a great weekend! Lesson yesterday was fab, just what we needed. Henry feels like himself, just needed to spend money at the vet to get him feeling 100% and it was the magic we needed. We jumped some good courses in our lesson once I looked up.

Had a good time watching the XC last night, though I haven't seen to the end, I had to go to bed!nBut I saw plenty of spills from what i did watch.

Today, 4 rounds of show jumping. Henry jumped a perfect 75 round to come third (and I was the highest placed mum so had a lovely prize for that too!). Coolie had a rail, I just needed to ride a little more forward. in the 90 he had 2 lazy rails, I rode much more forward and got nice lines. Henry also had 2 rails, I wasn't quite as forward into a couple of jumps. I was TIRED by that point. But it was such a big improvement on the last time when we did our first 90. I am so thrilled with him, and Coolie too!

I'm exhausted after this weekend, yesterday was so incredibly busy I was flat out handing out freebies! Even having to climb into the bin to grab the packets at the bottom ?
Friday was a bit more civilised...
Managed to catch a few dressage tests, a couple of horses on the xc at the lake (great view from the Mars hospitality tent although note to self...don't try and sit in front of Mrs Mars, still dying from the embarrassment ?) and of course got in some shopping. Really enjoyed my first time there although people will never fail to surprise me when something is being given out for free!
