Hacking again, we technically have an arena but it's so saturated and deep at the moment we don't use it at all.
I'm stuck cycling at the moment- car is refusing to start. I don't mind really but it really isn't the weather for it ? - made it there mucked out 2, rode and back in time to start work at 9.30 this morning

I’m impressed Roxylola, that’s a lot to fit in before 9.30 especially by bike in this weather.
TFF hope all goes well for the chiro vet visit.

Absolutely nothing going on this weekend except for a hack on Sunday as long as it isn’t peeing down. My best efforts to reintroduce DP back into work in walk after back and saddle issues resolved have failed because he would rather go fast ?

Hacking. And then hacking again! After last week's total downer I had on going in the school/being nervous in my lessons, I'm taking all advice and packing that in for now. Feels better already. Got a good hacking partner who enjoys a steady pootle along just as I do. Maybe will head out with instructor at some stage another week as previously did lessons on a hack. For now though I shall be pootling and practicing some exercises on the hacks. ?

ah well done TFF.
nothing doing here, again...
it's defrosted so will be scraping squishy poos off the mud instead of frozen ones

Otherwise, attempt riding or just do walkies. K has follow up scope next week. see what that brings. Very bored at the moment!
just walkies then. K informs me she's still not up for riding  sort of losing hope at the moment.

I have a weekend of hacking planned- horse has been at work with me this week so we've had the luxury of an indoor arena and she has been fab. So she has earned a nice easy one before she serious work again next week

I'm not 100% sure on my plans- it depends if I still have trial saddle.

If I do, then I'll hack on Saturday and Sunday. If I don't then an in-hand hack one day and ground work t'other.

Hope K better soonest MP.

Here just like 2021 weekends to date, nada. So booorrrreeeddd of the school. Very boring hack along a lane and back as don't have TOLL ride access anymore as we always box up to hack in a huge park but can't at the moment.

I am moving yards. It’s a mammoth operation of packing up everything tomorrow and getting stables ready then a convoy of vehicles on Saturday to move 4 horses. I lose my two arenas and horse Walker but having a sand lunge pen built right now and then arena to follow in the spring. Saturday and Sunday will be spent cleaning up the old yard ready for the new occupants on Monday. New yard has been purpose built around my preferences so can’t moan but i am really, really spoilt right now with what I have and hacking not quite as good.

Oh MP, hope Kira comes right for you with some more time. I know the feeling, it sucks!

L is much better after her splint and has stayed sound the last 3 rides, so officially back on board! We've got a lesson this weekend and then she will get some front shoes on next week, I'm excited about it because it means I can utilise our excellent hills more (ground is rocky and rock hard, bit of a struggle for a flat footed ponio at the moment). Hopefully will properly back the youngster in the next few weeks as well, can't wait to get her out and about under saddle :)

Have a good weekend all!

MP - I'm so sad to hear about K, I hope she picks up soon ?

I'm not sure what we'll do other than hacking with a friend today, there's heavy rain forecast tomorrow so will probably just go in the school. Maybe a hack on Sunday. Work is mad at the moment so not getting much time to ride in the week, and with the lack of competitions I am struggling to motivate myself. I've got a lesson booked next weekend so at least that gives us a bit of focus!

Sorry to hear about K MP, really rotten for you both. I hope she picks up soon.

Not masses on this weekend, it's a bit like groundhog day. Think I'm going to start jumping again this weekend after a long break, start off with some small sensible gridwork and see how we get on. Aside from that just yard jobs and housework I imagine.

Good luck for the yard move LEC - I detest moving yards, I don't envy you!

So sorry to hear about K MP - :-( hope she improves soon!

Well mostly hacking for us, trying to do some schooling out hacking as fields are just to wet to do much in there right now.
roll on spring and hopefully an end to this lockdown............................

Little Ollie is still growing like mad and happy with his two field buddies so i will spend a bit of time with him in the daylight for a change instead of doing checks by torchlight !

Hope K picks up soon MP.

I'm really torn about riding at the moment. After seeing my little lead rein jockey at our scan this week and them actually looking like a baby as opposed to a prawn it's made it all a bit more real in my head so I'm thinking my riding days might be over for now. But I miss it at the same time :(

I think (if the weather is nice) I might have a bit of a grooming session on R instead. She's looking a bit feral! And maybe a bit of a tack clean and spring clean of my yard stuff. I'm really tempted by a Mattes numnah so maybe I can have a bit of a clear out and raise some funds!

I’ve just received a very gorgeous new PS of Sweden saddlecloth so I will be giving it a spin at some stage... that’s the height of it!!! Might go for a hack tomorrow.
YO is also refurbishing the 20x40 arena, so looking forward to having a go on it - hopefully the work will all be finished this weekend.

MP, another who is keeping fingers crossed that Kira feels better soon, sending a virtual hug!
We have thawed here so S has been able to get Rose out for a couple of hacks as I think she was starting to get a bit fed up of being in the indoor, although I feel so lucky to have that available as Rose is as fit as a flea.
S and Rose has a lesson with Peter this morning and am pleased to report that she's now got the idea of half steps without anyone on the ground. S clicks and Rose steps! Not fantastic yet but a really good tool in the tool box as it really helps to engage her. The quality of the work improves immediately and today we had the best lateral work I've seen her do as she had really good activity and great crossing in a lovely consistent frame, usually we get one or two but not all three. The collected canter work is also improving with every week, it's slow but steady progress. She'll occasionally have a bit of a nap when the work gets tough but it's a bit half hearted and tbh pretty predictable and once she's said yeah rather than nay, she knuckles down and works really well. She's having tomorrow off and going out for a hack on sunday (weather permitting)
I hope everyone stays safe and well and we don't have snow!
