Weather up here is horrid......driving drizzle all week and now freezing cold :( Would mostly like to be hibernating in a onesie this weekend ;)

Sat: MUST finish my MBA assignment.

Sun: Aldham Mill BD with Fitzenburger & MH. Chasing the elusive 4 Q points for Novice Open Q

Enjoy!! :)

F514

a non-horsey (and non-dissertation work - yay!) weekend for me - I am driving down to Bath to stay at my boyfriend's at his uni for the weekend :D

best luck ferdinase514 for those points! :D and good luck to all those competing! hope your neds are well! :)

Good luck F514!!

I have my first competition in a year (and my loan horse's first ever) on Saturday ***gulp*** Only a prelim (or in fact, BE90) dressage test but I've no idea how he'll behave. Rescue Remedy is at the ready!! And possibly a hip flask... ;)

Going to try and walk Vinnie out and see how he looks as he is still lame after his field attack last week :(

He has had lots of physio and laser work done and has had this week off with lots of bute. Getting better but still not tracking up on one hindleg.

Sunday, moving some of Vinnie's things to the new yard as he is meant to be moving in a week but will have to monitor how he is feeling.

Today - Medium 71 test riding clinic - really looking forward to it
Saturday - Elementary tests x 2 (also chasing points but zero expectation as we need 66% plus in open section :0( )
Sunday - hack in the morning, decorating (house, not stables!) in afternoon!

Working on a local yard on Saturday for some extra pennies, and then heading off to SNEC with Artic Fox to cheer on the PDRC team.

Next weekend I should be updating with an actual horsey weekend that involves a horse with me ;)

Little bit jealous of the lack of dissertation.....love doing the MBA but am wondering where to find enough time!

It's a nightmare, isn't it?!

Fitz got 66.15% last week. so frustrating (and tiring...and expensive)

That's a qualifying score tho so well done! We managed to qualify for areas at medium and elementary, but regionals is altogether harder (rightly so!) so I'm just enjoying my outings and not worrying too much. However, would be nice to manage to qualify over the winter for the summer regionals, it's something to aim for at least! Winter regionals with a massive drive (Cornwall to Dorset) is not so appealing, so maybe a blessing in disguise ;0)

My trouble is he's SO spooky that we go into a strange arena and our scores plummet - 53% in the areas warm up class - oh the shame, the shame!!!

No :( novice open is 67% :(

Burgie hasn't been to regionals yet but was a good boy for MH at Area Festival so hoping he'll keep it together when the time comes!!

Just want them Q do we can have a day off!!

For the first time in ages we are actually going somewhere this weekend. It's going to be our last competition of the year I suspect as my work is going to be full on with no days off from next week until Christmas (grrr). So Nickel and I are going to Milton College for BD on Saturday, wooop woop.
Got our times today and much to my relief we don't have the 4 hour wait between tests that we had last time unaffil there, just an hour plus a later start. I've given up on the qualifiers for this year since I can't go out enough. We are doing P15 and N22, which I am glad I checked as I thought we were doing N23! I've never done N22 before and was a bit surprised at the two free walks on a long rein (which is great as that is one of Nickel's strong movements, although the trot on the long rein is best!). Although am a bit  about the tiny bits of counter canter. As I have been really bad and was doing lots of work on changes with him so I am going to have to concentrate and really ride him so he doesn't just flick one in!
I was looking at the qualification rules for BD and I think we'll try to qualify for the Prelim next year and/or concentrate on getting our Festival sheets, then when we are ready to do Elementary qualifiers (thinking very long term here) as the margins are a bit more obtainable. Nickel doesn't know any of that and was more concerned this morning with the hunt that came past. I have promised him a run with the drag hounds next spring before we get back to being dressage divas

Thank you :)

Yep, likely to be a 'warts and all' report I predict!!

Our left canter is nowhere near there when either of us have any tension so I'm writing off those marks already ;) It's very much an outing for the experience so I'm trying to remember to just have fun and not put any pressure on! Pics will depend on our time - I have plenty of people planning to come and spectate as long as our test is after 10am!!

Hurrah I can finally take part in this thread!
Saturday I am taking the young'un to dressage- walk and trot and a prelim
Sunday I am taking him for his first ever proper attempt at show jumping!
Given that he jumped some coloured planks on the floor like this, i think it could be interesting!

Have fun all!

Ooh, massive bummer! Well, shows he's capable looking on the bright side!

Great, that means I'll never get my baby qualified either, since competing my older one will put me in novice opens with her too :0( (she's 3 atm, planning ahead!)

My competition horse is on hol until end of November so it is hunting time for me!

Saturday - Boot camp at the gym in the am then 3pm cubbing with nugget.

Sunday - running over the chase with a group of people from the gym then clipping Super Cob ready for Opening Meet on Tuesday :)

Quite an energetic weekend really :)

Best of luck with the points.

Saturday B's fabulous 11.2hh pony is going to a new home at the other end of the country. After three years when he has taken B off the lead rein through countless fun days and successes there will be lots of tears so I'll be focussing on keeping B entertained and supported that day.

Sunday we have PC team SJ on his new pony then a client coming to see a horse.

And sometime over the weekend our new Cult Hero/Clover Hill boy should arrive :)

Well I had some lessons booked but seeing as the pony came in last night missing a shoe, we have to cancel as farrier cant make it til Monday.

On Friday night we are having a yard night out to celebrate a few birthdays on the yard (my birthday included altho we are 2 weeks early for mine) haha.

Well the pony has been back in proper work for all of 10 days now and all is going well! (fingers crossed frantically!) sooo...

Saturday i'm having a lesson with Liz Taylor to check everything is looking like it is going in the right direction :) Haven't had a lesson with her before, so should be interesting!

Sunday, we're moving the horses to their winter grazing...

Good luck everyone competing, look forward to reports!

Oh crikey, am I allowed to comment on here? Am going hacking on both days. Weather forecast is cold, so have dug out winter fleeces, thick socks and my Newmarket exercise sheet as the coblet is now clipped out.

While the OH is away, Sil will play (horsies) :D

I'm taking Denys on a proper hack on Sat, he's only been on little potters this week just before it's gone pitch black, so a proper long solo hack is in order.

Then Sunday is Frank's second dressage party ever - his owner is doing the walk & trot and I'm doing P18. He was good for me last night, if a bit slow off the leg, but our canter transitions improve every time and the canter is easy in P18! We came second last time in N24 but this is a much bigger class... We'll see. Poor Frank has been a bit neglected by me the last week since Denys came home, though - I hope he doesn't hold that against me :p

Good luck to everyone competing!

No competing for me, but got two to clip and hopefully fingers cross will be sitting on my little coloured horse after 4 months of box rest with changes in her feet.

Good luck all who are competing and rest of you enjoy your weekend.... wrap up warm as it's going to be cold..

Quiet one for me. I'm clipping Baby R for the THIRD time so far this winter (hairybogbeast) but other than that I'll be doing very VERY little!

Got a couple of weeks off from competing then a busy November before slowing down to do some winter training.

My "weekends" actually run Thursday to Sunday :D

- Today am teaching and riding all day, just had my saddler up to try Amerigos and Equipes but nothing fits my funny pony :(
- Friday after riding I'm in London doing non-horsey things.
- Saturday I'm taking a horse I train for someone to his first dressage, just an unaf prelim and novice, before we affiliate him for December.
- Sunday I'm boxing Charmeur to Epsom to go hacking with an old friend.

Good luck to everyone competing :)

Saturday fencing in the fields and getting haylege ready for winter.

Will prob lunge both tomorrow night then ride them sat.

Sunday non horsey day with friends.
