Who has plans then?

None here, same old same old, again

If OH has got digger up and running then I think we will finish the fencing started last weekend. Otherwise more foal wrangling and schooling. Had a lesson on Tuesday so plenty of homework.

Forecast isn't great here but grass needs some rain, so swings & roundabouts I guess. Have fun all :)

Not much. Enjoying some time down at the yard. Enjoying having a shiny clean lorry - been professionally cleaned this week and looks like new. Shame horses have to go in it and crap all over the place ?

Oh, and, ummm, viewing a horse on Saturday...I hate trying new horses, I never feel good enough. I have visions of plopping off going into canter (which did happen once, so is certainly a possibility ?) or similar mishap! Sadly, lovely loan horse hasn’t worked out and she’s going back to her owner in a few weeks. I really should just enjoy my lovely boy and get back out to events etc, but ofc I won’t be that sensible!

Yay! I can take part!

For the first time since Blair 2019, Bob has an outing! He's doing the OI at Weston so fingers crossed he's on good form! I can't go as we're still pretty locked down so will be refreshing EventingScores and keeping my fingers crossed!

Good luck to everyone else who is getting out and about!

My boy is finally getting a run out at an EI100. But not with me.. my amateur status means I can't ride him, but I can get a friend to. Its kinda ridiculous as we are similar riders, but I am obvs much more used to the horse since hes mine, and I'll be there anyway doing my usual scoring job so not like adding to the numbers.
Happy to stick to the regs though, if it means we can keep going in some form, the pro's can maintain their livelihoods, etc etc.

But needs must, he is fit as a flea and ready to go, the ground is perfect, the weather forecast is good, and he deserves a good spin out. He's 16 and I dont know how many more seasons he will have so I'd rather he got one event per month for the summer and he may as well start now :)

I was very confused then as it feels like the start of the week! Ah the joy of BH Mondays ?

We should have been competing this Sunday, but due to the indoor school rule it's been pushed back a day so I can't make it. We had a lesson yesterday working on getting Danny sharper off the leg aids, as he's been sneakily getting a bit lazier. He was pretty shocked by the whole idea but did some good work! Watching the videos back was a tad depressing as he feels so loose and active when on top, but looks very average from the ground. I'm hoping the expression will develop as we put more engagement in and he hopefully learns to free up his shoulder.

So lots of homework for us, and also saddler tomorrow for checks plus a GP saddle for Chilli - yippee! So hopefully more baby pony riding too.

My big bear is coming home tomorrow after his operation for gastrosplenic entrapment, fingers crossed for his continued recovery!

The big Spanish potato is now sound so will be starting work again and the Baby Spanish has probably only a week or so left of her box rest. All on the up at the moment (touches wood frantically)!

Fingers crossed your report next week is that all sick notes have been signed off! Hang on in there...

Yes, yes! Meeee! I'm going out! Woo hoo! ???

Went to friends arena this morning and we schooled together and swapped fuzzies.
Hacking tomorrow.
A clinic 1st thing Saturday (ruddy weather forecast looks dire) have been asked to dress up as photographer coming for a mag ? bet they dont!
Dressage 1 to 1 lesson on Sunday morning with visiting well thought of trainer, she comes 3 times a year for a day and the riding club subsidises each 40 min session. I hope she doesn't despair when I sidle in.....

Good luck to those competing and enjoy whatever you are doing ☺

I can empathise totally! When I was viewing when Amber was lame, I was asking to view 'BE90/BE100' horses but was so nervous after breaking my ankle coming off her that I literally cried when a horse cat jumped a x pole. They must have thought I was a complete and total timewaster!! I think I mainly bought Toby because he made me feel safe.

BD cancelled for tomorrow so we are sneaking in an arena hire just to get out. May record a test while I'm there as I'll continue with e-riders for a bit alongside normal competitions. Aside from that not a huge amount, I had vague visions of hacking in the sunshine, but the weather looks pants and I am still uneasy about hacking after last weekends shambles so possibly not.

Hooray for people having plans again!

I'm taking Arts to xc hire tomorrow and then on Sunday Pebbles is going to a party ??. A few weeks back I merrily chucked a schedule to Pebbles' sharer and said she could take Pebbles if she wanted. So she duly booked some classes and then I had a minor flap about finding showing-appropriate tack for her. And this is how my tack room came to be tidied this week ??.

She has just booked in for a couple of in hand classes so hopefully Pebbles will rise to the occasion. It's a first show for her so we'll see how she goes.

Have a good weekend all ?

Frank is off to somerford on Saturday, for his first trip out around the farm ride. He will have his best buddy Finn with him . Im not sure if Pip should go, shes a bit fresh at the minute and thinks walking is over rated, probably not the best companion for his first ride out so i may have a sneaky look in the shop while they go round

The weather looks crappy for the weekend so we got a hack in today. Will mostly be schooling indoors this weekend. No comps or clinics in the area still. Then off to horspital on Tuesday to further investigate and plan surgery for the face alien (I am assuming it is a bone cyst, but who knows).

I’m using friends to help me with the 4year olds this weekend so hope to get them out on a couple of hacks and do an arena session. Elana is eventing on Sunday. It's due to be freezing cold and snow, so a repeat of Tuesday's event I guess where we were caught in a blizzard just after xc!

I don't have "proper" plans, even though we can go out and do things again!

I went out hacking with some ladies from the yard this evening, will try and ride in the school tomorrow and mayyyybe have a little jump. I want to get the saddler to come out, as his saddle doesn't fit brilliantly, and then I might finally be able to sort some lessons!

My weekend started in fab fashion with a trip round Smallwood XC on Supercob - AKA Roxylola's lovely Charlie. Roxylola very kindly gave me the ride on a nice straightforward cob while she rode something altogether wilder! Many thanks RL!! And I met HufflyPuffly's very gorgeous Skylla too, who also came along.

Very grateful to have been trusted with him. Came home to find Katie had been whizzed passed by a bike at high speed and dumped on the road. Ouch. Hoping she can ride at Norton Disney on Sunday. Otherwise I may find I am eventing again rather sooner than I expected

Vet for Bear tomorrow to see if he’s still lame and try again to pin point it. If no luck I’ll be chucking him in the field for a month or so and really hoping it’s not something that needs treating in some way. Don’t particularly want to do that to a fatty prone horse with spring arriving but needs must.

Boggle is going on a firm schooling hack tomorrow to (once again) remind him of his place in the world. Sadly he seems to have forgotten again! He very much needs to go to a party and get busier but I suspect the ground will be too hard for the event I’d entered in a few weeks ?

Whee, flying supercob ?
Yeah I rode a TBx spider ? was an interesting experience but he learned from it and it was good to meet HP too - Skylla is very beautiful. My goal for the day was to do some jumps and not die - achievement unlocked - there were genuine concerns at times though ?

When you guys are going for a party again can I come?

I've got no plans for this weekend, but another fun ride with Deza next week.

He looks gorgeous though- not that super cob doesn't, obviously!

Lovely to see things starting again. Still very quiet here, we’re ‘stay local’ till end of this month.
Hoping to move my trailer tomorrow (first time in months!) and if good maybe venture to the beach to give my lad a trip before our first competition in AGES at the end of April.
Great pic AE

Well, we *should* have been going to Breckenborough eventing this weekend, but sadly Simon's weird self-harming habit has resulted in some odd cellulitis/lymphangitis which we're treating with antibiotics but is far from resolved... fingers crossed that we can make our next event at Solihull at the end of the month instead....

Meanwhile, rising 4yo is going to do the dressage competition that runs at our yard - last minute entry due to the non-eventing circumstances and just going to wobble around an intro. Should be entertaining!

And best wishes for Katie AE, thats really unfortunate ?
The rest of my weekend is dressage based with my supercob thankfully. Got Andy Thomas on Saturday at Knowsley dressage, and a lesson on Sunday with my trainer - 1st since Jan 3rd ?
