he picked it up super quick...initially he would only sniff and push it with his nose so i got off and kicked it around a bit and the penny dropped!

a connie or a welsh D maybe? pony power in a slightly larger package?

I'm not sure what to do at the moment - I won't have time for two horses (not to mention livery costs!) so once my 2yo is up and running I'll want to focus on him. Ideally I'd find a loan horse for a couple of years, so I won't be too fussy as long as it's something I can do some training on! Competitions would be a bonus. I did think about getting something and selling on in a couple of years, but that feels like a big risk... Lots to think about!

safe 13/14hh ponies are always a good seller but all horses are suicidal maniacs so.....!
