Weekend Weather - How'd you all cope?

[ QUOTE ]
We were only out for a couple of hours but it was fab galloping along with the skies thudering around us.

You madster.....

It all sounds very dramatic - to be sure the weather was!

I meant thundering, obviously! Easy to mis-spell when you're trying to type quickly in work so nobody sees you, lol.

It was quite dramatic. Luckily, Titan loves wet weather and the thunder&lightning doesn't bother him on the slightest. I had a whale of time!

The only thing that did freak him out happened before we left. Myself and Krash'n'Burn have our horses, plus the one that KnB hunted on Saturday, in a barn with a corrugated iron roof. As I went to plait up it started hammering it down (literally) with hailstones making a noise like a machine gun going off above us! The three horses jumped out of their skins and I couldn't hear what KnB was trying to shout to me.

That was a bit scary!

Boys went out on Saturday - I got soaked to the skin getting them in a terrible 5 min hail storm.

Sunday they stayed in and were in the indoor school in the morning and again in the afternoon. Chancer makes sure Cairo gets plenty of exercise and I then "formally" exercise them.

I am very lucky as the school is behind the stables so if I want to, I don't have to have the horses put a foot outside in icy weather.

Was at the yard on Sunday, and two large pieces of heavy corrugated iron was ripped off a stable roof - Lethal - one flew straight into a field and smashed. We had to jump on it so it wouldn't fly off. The other landed on a footpath - but, not surprisingly, there was no one there - thank god. All okay, other than that.

Its like that all year round in the west of scotland! (Only kidding - we had two dry days in a row a couple of months ago). Horses here do not have hooves - they have webbed feet.
