Anyone else get infuriated about people who have horse but know nothing about them!
A friend of a friend is digging herself a big hole at the moment.
She's currently just bought some nice stables for a reasonable amount of cash (via a bank loan) she been on this yard for 2 years and the owners horse died a couple of weeks back and stables been up for sale since so she's bought them. They are on council rented land and renting council fields and have no other facilities other than a stable and a field (no turnout in winter) she then thinks she can charge ott rates to all the 2 liveries who are have been there for last 10 years, they've obviously refused to pay (it's more than why you would expect to pay at a 'proper' livery yard) she then discovers that they're needs to be serious maintenance going on the roofs due to the bad weather, she doesn't have any other money behind her to fix said problem. She also has a 2 year old strong Bolshy coloured cob which she feeds 3 big bags of carrots a week and a loaf of bread a day and then expects him to stay in his stable everyday for the next 6 month and then wonders why his heads about to blow off. Today her horse kicked in next doors stable and made complete mess out of it, now needs more money to fix this issue, yet has none.
Just having a rant she cuts contents all the time she rang me up other week asking if I could fit a saddle?!?!? I said not at 2 year old but here's saddlers number ring him he lives up the road top guy. Does she listen, no! She's been to robinsons and bought a thick saddle pad thinking saddle will fit better, after I've told her not to even bother with anything till he matures abit.
At my wits end, I'm not even on her yard thank god but poor people who are! If she rings me up again asking what to do and then not even listening, im not even gonna pick up the phone.
She's a complete novice, worse than a novice actually she's over confident and doesn't know nothing about blooming horses!!! What's the saying 'a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous in the wrong hands'
I wouldn't bother but she never listens a to your advice, I'm always asking my yo for help (she's a breeder and had bred an produced top show ponies so best person to ask as that's the route I want to go)
And breath, feel much better getting it off my chest. Now pass me a can of cider!!!!!
