Weetabix and shreddies in feeds?

I have recently seen a video of someone who puts weetabix and shreddies in their horses feeds, soaked. Was just wondering if anyone knows what this would be good for and what it can do for the horse, as well as anything to be cautious around when using them for feeds.

That's just a very expensive way of feeding grain to horses which is in most horse nuts anyway
