As I've been showjumping all winter and havent even thought about showing untill the new year I havent really paid much attention to Bossys weight. In my opinion I think he looks very athletic and fit, but may be not up to weight for showing???

This was him last week...

And this was yesterday...

At the moment I feed him 3 small scoops of build up, (equivalent to just over a large scoop) 2 small scoops of sugar beet and 2 big handfulls of readigrass, and has 2 massive haynets in the night. He gets one day off a week, and one day walking hack the other days are schooling or faster hacks with one day jumping and maybe a competition. He is the fittest hes ever been and is working better now than he ever has done, yet, although condition wise he looks fab... and I know come the spring he will fill out as the grass will be a better quality, I feel he needs to bulk out a bit more?? Anybody have any opinions?

I'm not intending on getting him looking fat, but a few people on my yard who show also have commented that he looks a little too athletic and trim, and needs a little bit more about him.
I agree I dont like fat horses in the show ring, he never has been fat, none of mine have. And I agree with you I like him exactly as he is!! But again, I want him to do well!!
