Ohhh this time of year again, when we are all trying to find feeds to put weight on are horses(Me incluced)! I had an old pony like this! Ermm considering your mare is not struck on eating mix is does make it slightly more challenging, I would suggest maybe sugabeet, speedybeet! Something along thoose lines, although if you could get her eating mix more Baileys no.17 and blue chip did the world of good. Also how about adding oil into her feed for condition?

Baileys Outshine is really good & you don't have to feed large amounts so she won't be put off by a large meal.

If her teeth are no longer as good as they used to be you may find she gets more out of the conditioning cubes if you soak them in some warm water to soften them up & make them easier to chew. SORRY just seen you are feeding her soaked feed

I'd also look at changing her chaff to alfalfa or freeze dried grass.

I was going to suggest outshine - that is good. Also have an old pony and I feed her weight gain feed from Allen and Page, also cond cubes from baileys is good and their no 1 baileys cereal meal - that is brill - you can soak it and add feed in with it. Sugarbeet good too. Alpha Oil by dengie is a good one...I have tried them all - cond cudes and the cereal meal seem to work best - try www.baileyshorsefeed.co.uk
the contact email is a fantastic - they get back to you right away and offer really good advice.
