Hi all
My old girl is 18 retired been out 24/7 for best part of 3 years. Had to fetch in mid jan as started dropping weight as more horses were put into field and therefore less grass ( not my field!). Put her on scoop am and pm of happy hoof , 1/2 dry scoop fibre beet and 500g top spec cool balancer also in pm feed, didn’t want to go all crazy on feed as soon as she came in as hasn’t needed any since she’s been retired! Goes out in day into paddock not much grass but enough to pick on during the day and then come into about 1/2 or 3/4 big slice of hay a night ( won’t eat anymore still some left in am) . Looked at her tonight and still not put on as much as I’d like given she’s been and fed for nearly 2 months! any advice for helping get some more weight on? She’s up to date with worming was done with pramox after tapeworm test.
Thanks in advance!

Personally would have bloods done to check all ok, liver etc including PPID as weight loss is a symptom. Fibrebeet is conditioning so you could increase that and add micronized linseed. Solution mash also good for weight gain or fast fibre, aim to keep sugar/starch combined to 10% or below
