Weight Limits for Novice rider

Does anyone have any ideas on what a good riding school would offer on the upper weight limit for a novice rider?

I am would like to get my Husband a riding lesson for his birthday, but at 6'2 and a rugby player build I am not sure it will be possible, as he weights about 15st. I know that people of that weight do ride horses, as I have seen them on the polo field, but I can't seem to find a riding school willing to take him.. Any one else had this?
