I posted a little while ago saying how well the weightloss was going. Pumba is a different pony now, has lost so much weight and has alot more energy. How he didnt suffer from laminitis before, i do not know. He was the fattest pony i had ever seen and the photos dont really do it justice, he was HUGE.

Here are some before and after piccies:

Looking very scruffy today, it took me a couple of hours to get him like this, he was caked! Hoping he isnt as bad tomorrow as i really want to get out hacking, i havent been in a while and he needs it. Im really trying to get him toning up now, he is doing a bit of everything and went to his first ridden show the other day to do unaffiliated SJ. First time indoors and he was brilliantly behaved, placed in each class he went into, he certainly loves jumping and hacking, shame he isnt so keen on the schooling as thats my favourite thing!

He looks great.

I am obsessive over weight having owned a few dieting ponies. It's not easy getting weight off and keeping it off so well done.

Good grief he was fat. what a difference. Its not an easy task getting that kind of weight off, well done. My daughter got a cob that was as fat as him, she looked like she had one of those padded sumo suits on, it took nearly a year to get down to the right weight. My new cob was nearly as fat when we got him at the beginning of Nov, he has gone down from 570 to 534. Downside to this however is that his new made to measure saddle came on the 21st Dec after a 6 week wait, and has had to go back for adjustment! The saddler was pleased that she can now find his shoulder.

Thanks guys! Shame i cant quote as im on my phone, but brighttinsel i know, going to ******ed in the show ring now huh? ;)

And cobsgalore, its taken 5months (had him 5 months tomorrow) with a strict diet, finding a happy medium so that he was satisfied but not steadily losing weight and variety in his work load it has dropped off really well. Winter has also helped as there is no grass for him to pig out on.

Just got to get his fitness up now, he may have more energy but he is still a lazy ******!
