Weight of rider for 10 hand shetland

Hi all
Newbie here on the forum, i just wandered what maximum weight of a rider you would advise for 10hand Shetland. He;s for my 2 yo son, but at the moment he only sits on him for a few minutes and think the pony would benefit from a little longer ride from bigger more able child. My friends son would like to ride him, but hes quite a big lad for 7yo.

my ( very skinny) 12yr old can sit on my shetland no probs. he is too tall, but weight wise is fine. although he doesn't do anything other than walk...

I often meet a lady out hacking, she rides and extremely fit looking shetland, in fact I have never seen one look that good. She rides him for miles, she is way too tall for him, but obviously not too heavy. She is a grown woman. She says she got him as a pet and he was bored, so she started to hack him out and now she cannot bear to part with him !

If it is fit and has good conformation that is, there are some dodgily built little beasties about that would struggle to do this!
 
I used to ride my daughter's shettie before I got too heavy. I'm not exactly petite. Adults hunt them, show them etc, so as long as they're correct 'traditional' shettes they're fine.
 
An average standard shetland should have no problem carrying an average 7 yo child.
My full up shetland happily carries a small 13yo
