Weighted boots

I looked into this for my horse - you can get wraparound wrist/ankle weights for people for about ten quid that work really well as weighted boots.

Is this a joke??? If not please please just find a good trainer who can teach you exercises for the correct muscleing of your horse. It really is not neccesary to use gadgets like these.

No this is not a joke, thanks for your useful imput! It was even recommended by vet to help. I do have a trainer and he does lots of different exercises including poles, not that I should justify myself.

Hes not in a lot of work atm as I am building him up slowly and the weighted boots are just there to use lightly to encourage him to pick up fully behind.

I bought some velcro ankle weights cheaply online (ebay) - my horse physio recommended using weights too. Mine only cost a few pounds and were the same thing. Just use them over a fleece bandage :)
You can get different weights.

Yes I bought similar - blue cotton ones - the good ones to get is with a long velcro fastening so you can fit them around. They don't need to go fully around the leg (the weight bit circumference I mean) but of course you want sufficient velcro so they do up. I think both of those links ones had long velcro fastenings. Good luck!
