....just wanted to ask a few questions about the breed as OH and myself are wanting to buy a Weimaraner and don't know anyone who's got one. We've done plenty of research on the internet but it'd be good to have some first hand guidance.

Are they quite sociable dogs and easily trainable?
I'd love to do agility with my dog (there's an excellent team near me) would a Weimaraner be happy with that?

Also we both work so the dog would be left on it's own for up to 4 hours at a time....i know it's not ideal, (would love to not work and have all day with the dog but it's never gonna happen!) but are they the sort of dog that would be ok on it's own? Or would it chew everything and be distressed?

Any other info or help much appreciated

I have two weimaraners, and a litter of 6 puppies at the moment i love the breed, they love human company and will do anything to please, they do well at agility.
They do not like to be left alone, but 4 hours isn't long. The best idea would be to get a large puppy crate to use as a bed, you will find that once they are used to their bed/crate they will be very happy to be in there and it does save your furniture, as they do chew.
They are very easy to train,as they are very clever!

No they have not got homes yet!

But they are only 11 days old so plenty of time, they are just starting to open their eyes, not be long now and they will soon be running around.

I have a six month old Weimeraner. She is gorgeous! She is quite demanding - and attention seeking!! But she is so funny and very entertaining - so much personality. She is left alone for up to 4 hours in her crate and its fine - although she does love human company. I'm at work all day - but she gets taken out twice for longish periods during the day and walked before work, so come the evening she is knackered.

It is true that they are rather more 'special' than some breeds, and can be really manic, but I wouldn't change her - although ask me that again when she wakes up at 5am and starts barking!!
