Browsing our local freeads site, I came across this advert;
http://www.wightbay.com/horses-horse-equipment/high-end-luxury-horse-complex/4445177

Initially, I was almost excited, equestrian facilities here are adequate but definitely not luxury! Then, I read down a bit and the ad mentions donations! I think I may be smelling a scam!

Shame, our largest equestrian place recently had plans passed to expand, build holiday chalets and a country store. I wonder if people could (if it is, in fact, a scam ad) get suckered in, thinking it's that place?

They say they haven't got planning through yet, so I wondered what the photos were of. They look like pics of four different yards. :confused:

They look like pics of stable builders to me. I'm sure I've seen the pic of the pally pony before, too.

Okay, my googling finds:

This is from here.

This pic is taken from here here.

This one is from here.

Oh, look. Another 'borrowed' pic. This is from here.

Abut of an unusual advert, but in the version the link went to there was no mention of donations. Maybe that comes later when you email them!!

Total idiots. They can't spell, and they can't string a sentence together. I realise there are many people who can't spell, and that is fair enough - I work at a Learning Disability Centre so am fully aware of this. But if this is the case then why not get someone else to do your website for you instead of creating something that people will be put off by because they don't feel it is genuine? We all make mistakes, and I make them quite a bit when I'm in a rush. If I were to create my own website at least I'd check it and have it proof read by someone.

The Isle of Wight is made of 94,000 acres. This takes up 180 of them. That alone makes me very surprised.

I know of someone else who has a horse based website and has put so much *****e on it, it is totally unbelievable. They advertise someone else's yard as their own, take photos that aren't of the place they are from, say they compete jumping 1.40m and their website is a total disgrace, full of typos and grammatical errors.

Just puts me right off.

It'll be a kiddy for either a school or NVQ project or just one of the wannabees that occasionally appear on here. It's not the first 'castles in the air' ad that's been posted on here, it's unlikely to be the last. Just someone dreaming of their perfect life.
