So, we have a few new liveries on the yard. Whilst in conversation with them, introducing myself, having a general discussion to see if we'd be good hacking pals etc i carried on my usual routine, which included:

* mucking out with rubber gloves (i have a paper bed and it goes further if i get nuggets out by hand rather than pull half the bed out with a fork)

* after putting the ned back in his stable he has his normal routine of 4 mouthfuls of haylage, circle stable once then wee, at which point i grab a bucket and catch said wee (again, makes bed go much further) before chucking it out and giving him his dinner

Fair enough, the new liveries may have thought i was a bit of a clean freak/penny pincher. but after the next one......

* whilst grooming, neddy finds it so relaxing he tends to "let it all hang out", at which point i grab it (with gloved hand i might add) and remove any *ahem* nastiness which he tends to get alot of build up

........I happened to look up to find the horrified face of new livery's boyfriend staring at me. Thats one way to freak out the newbie's i guess!

Anyone else do similar/more random things??

I would LOVED to have seen the look on that guys face!! :D

My ex found it "disturbing" that I scratched my boys bottom (not his actual messy bit). My boy loved that and always got a quivvery lip which I found very endearing, saved him the effort of waiting to be turned out and ruining his tail by rubbing on a fence!

It's wierd as such but another old horse of mine used to love hoof paint so much he would contort himself into strange angles to try and lick it off. That was quite odd, never seen another try and do that!
