Weird looking bit

Just wondering if any one knows what bit Lance Whitehouse is using on his horse, page 52 of this weeks H&H. Its quite unusual.

Wow that is a strange looking bit, it looks like a very custom made jobbie to me. With the potential to be really strong with the angle of the curb attachment. It almost looks upside down and back to front.

it's not a swales, i have no idea what it is. It's like a regular snaffle, then a separate piece of metal that goes under the chin, over the mouth piece of the snaffle then longish shanks down which are connected to roundings, which are also attached to the snaffle cheeks and the reins on the roundings. Not sure if that helps explain. Never seen anything like it.

No me neither. It may be a custom made bit, but it looks pretty severe. Maybe someone will know what it is.

Nope not that. That's just a combination one Finbar's in isn't it...hackamore noseband and bit combo?

Transmissions bit has a 'curb' that go throughs the snaffle and goes down to a shank either side, which the roundings then connect to, if that makes sense.

That's a home made Tandem bit - hackamore and a mouthpiece connected by roundings. I wouldn't say it's particularly bad, but it does require skill and I would have thought it would be better to use it with 2 reins.
