I don't like that. Sheep are still susceptible to ragwort poisoning, but by the time the liver damage signs set in the sheep are too old anyway. Just goes to show though how worthless some people think some animals are.
On the original subject though, strange to advertise them on a horse site!
I thought sheep, being close grazers, wouldn't suffer from ragwort poisoining if put on new pasture. They won't eat big old growth anyway will they ( I may well be wrong as an amateur sheep owner) unless there is nothing else. And why buy £159 worth of rare breed sheep to keep your pasture down? Local sheep farmer should be able to sell you weaner for £25 or less - we get them bottle fed, vaxed etc for that. Add grass and slaughter fees and you have some cheap and yummy meat.
I like flashy types, four whites and a blaze......
I have sheep and I love having them because they keep the pasture clean and nice. and the lambs are tasty too........
