I posted on here a long time ago in search of a woollen hunt jacket... to which a very nice lady replied "Zebedee".....

We had various discussions and plans to get the Jacket to me for my husband to wear/buy.... Well eventually it happened and I promised I would post some photos of the jacket doing it's job... and very smart he looked to......

Thankyou so much!

It looks fabulous - could have been made for him. I'm so glad it finally found a home where it could be used & not just left hanging up in a cupboard (OH got a bit carried away at an auction & brought this beautiful brand new hunt coat despite the fact that it wasn't anywhere near his size.!) It was meant to be though - I don't think I've ever posted in hunting before, nor do I really ever look in here, but the day you posted about needing a mans hunt coat I just happened to be scrolling down the forum index & your post was listed as the most recent ! Pure luck for all concerned.
As for cleaning it, I think the preferred method is to sponge of the worst, leave it to dry, & then brush.
Thank you so much for posting the pictures.

Well quite a few people think that the dry cleaning ends up de-waterproofing it etc, we do tend to get ours dr cleaned sometimes, normally before p2p duties, but if you keep on top of the mud etc then you can normally manage. Try to avoid doing horse stuff from the ground in them as well, to avoid slobber etc.

What a smart looking turnout you both make, and one very smarrt hunt coat.

Another one in the camp for sponge, let it dry and brush off; and never dry clean. IMO dry cleaning does more harm than good. I've had other stuff dry cleaned that has said dry clean only and its come back faded, and what my Mama would call 'all the goodness taken out of it..'
None of my riding jackets have ever been dry cleaned, just done as described above and they've ended up looking pretty grim sometimes. I have put them in the steam of a hot kettle or in the heat of a bathroom after bath/shower and this gets loads of muck out.

Completely aside from hunt coats, was amazed to read in a paper the other day that that silly bint Liz Jones possesses knickers that have to be dry cleaned. I always thought that woman had more money than sense.

What a smart looking cob you have as well

DD - I would guess at welsh cob x... one of our masters has an almost identical mare (Jemima) who also goes all day jumps anything, and does most of it in the most phenomenal trot I have Ever seen... she's about 15.2, built like a tank, and was the result of an accidental mating (at a hunt meet) of a heavyish IDx stallion on a welsh cob mare.

fortunately the mare was unharmed and the stallion was taken home in disgrace! :D
Lol the baby that was produced has hunting in his blood!!

had to comment on the horse because he is seriously gorgeous ! what an interesting mix haha.

Not sure how his breeding came about, he was from a rescue, he had to see a behaviourist as he was hand reared and led to issues lol... he's a well adjusted hunter now and his owners love him so much, its lovely xx
